[January 15, 2025] Recently, 2RedBeans has received several reports from both users and non-users, claiming that individuals have attempted to contact them via their phone numbers, alleging that they obtained these numbers from 2RedBeans, sometimes even providing picture evidence. We want to alert everyone to these scammer tactics.
In these scams, victims typically receive friend requests or messages from the scammer via WeChat or text messages. The scammer claims to have obtained the victim’s contact information from 2RedBeans and expresses interest in getting to know them.
The main goal of the scammer is to establish a connection with the victim and gradually gain their trust. If the victim happens to have a profile on 2RedBeans and isn’t cautious, they might establish initial trust and continue communication with the scammer. If the victim questions the source of the contact, or doesn’t have a 2RedBeans account, the scammer may be asked how they obtained the victim’s contact information. At this point, the scammer will share a forged picture with an incorrect name and photo, including a photoshopped phone number of the victim to lend credibility to their lie.

Be wary of people who contact you suddenly: If someone claims to have found your information through 2RedBeans, especially if you’ve never provided contact information or haven’t registered an account, stay alert.

Verify claims: If someone claims to have found you through 2RedBeans, log into your account and verify their information.
Do not share personal information: Avoid sharing your detailed information, such as phone numbers or addresses, with online strangers.
Report suspicious behavior: If you encounter any suspicious behavior, please contact the 2RedBeans customer service team immediately.
Raise your guard: Understand common online scams and the usual tactics of scammers.
